Disruptive Technology Symposium

Automotive Technological Shifts

Friday, Apr 6 2018 at 9:00 am - 2:00 pm EDT

Disruptive technology is changing the economic, political, social and organizational landscape in fundamental ways.  Understanding near term technologies and how to glean insights from previous technological revolutions can help managers to prepare for and manage fast-approaching and disruptive technological change.

In addition, technological change in one industry can have both impact on that industry as well as on adjacent industries.  In this symposium we’ll take a deep dive into the vehicle industry as an example.  The four big changes in vehicle tech: automation, connectivity, electrification and sharing will all be addressed, as well as the timing of these disruptive changes and the implications for adjacent industries such as energy, telecommunications, real estate development, insurance and urban development.

The event concludes with a panel discussion featuring:

  • Thomas Gage ‘80, CEO, Marconi Pacific
  • Shilpi Gupta, Senior Product Manager, Amazon Robotics
  • Binoy Damodaran, Associate Partner, IBM
