Conference has been postponed to Spring 2019.

Join the Yale Africa Business & Society Club for the 4th annual Africa Business Practicum, a conference and case competition centered on guiding emerging entrepreneurs and their businesses in sub-Saharan Africa. The event will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Yale School of Management in New Haven, CT.

This year’s theme will be Africa’s Digital Future: Fulfilling the Promise of a Connected Continent. We encourage you to enter the case competition with a team of classmates and have the chance to win a prize of $4,000 while helping the Microsoft-backed internet service provider Mawingu connect the continent with internet.

The day will also feature guests from the technology sector around the world, Microsoft executives, and panelists who will discuss the business and financial challenges in connecting the continent, as well as the growing opportunities in media, education, and other sectors seen as internet connectivity grows. Mawingu CEO Tim Hobbs and Microsoft leaders in Africa will also speak to and interact with conference attendees and case teams, responding to the case presentations and sharing their perspective on the development of the company and Microsoft ventures deeper into the continent.
