A Practical Leadership Approach to Sustaining Long-Term Performance: Leadership Practicum & McKinsey OHI Solution Insights into Organizational Health Join us Wednesday, November 19th to build leadership skills you can apply the very next day to improve the effectiveness of your organization. Leveraging insights from McKinsey's extensive research and experience working with leaders across sectors, gain new understanding into why the "soft skills" matter so much and how they translate into sustaining long-term performance. For Yale SOMers, this is a call to action and a way to give you the skills you need to be a tranformative leader at any organization. Dr. Michael Burchell and Alexandra Camp, Client Services Leads for McKinsey's Organizational Health Index Solution in North America, will present insights from 10 years of research and ~2 million survey participants to help us understand how leaders today are measuring and managing organizational health to create high functioning and effective organizations. What is Organizational Health? It is the capacity of an organization to sustain performance over the long term by: --Aligning employees around common vision, plan and culture --Enabling them to deliver on this goal with right tools, skills and processes --Empowering them to innovate and adapt to change The event continues with a facilitated discussion—led by Rob Greenly, SOM ‘83—on what these insights mean for you as a leader (regardless of your level in your organization) and what actions you can take to improve your organization's health today. Speakers: --Dr. Michael Burchell is a human capital strategist and Client Services Lead, North America, McKinsey & Company. He is co-author of two books, including The Great Workplace: How to Build It, How to Keep It, and Why It Matters (2011), and was Vice President of the Great Place to Work Institute. --Alexandra (Alex) Camp leads Client Services for McKinsey's Organizational Health Solution in North America. She partners with senior leadership teams to build organizational health into the fabric of their management systems, and provides a structured, data-driven approach to help them keep a focus on organizational health to enable success over time. During her time in consulting she has worked across industries including PE, Healthcare, Oil & Gas, Retail, CPG, and High Tech Manufacturing. Alexandra holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and a B.A in National Security Studies and Leadership Studies from American University. --Rob Greenly, SOM '83, is founder of the Corporate Physician Leadership Center and is President of YaleBoston. He is former VP of Leadership and Organization Development at Boston Scientific and Director of Leadership at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Cost: $10.
