Stu is an operations and business executive in high growth technology-driven organizations (including Yahoo!, TiVo, InfoSpace, Kno, VC firm Andreessen Horowitz and Automattic), ranging from pre-revenue startup roles to public company CFO, plus half a decade in investment banking. He's a metrics and results focused leader who has built high-performing teams across finance, strategy/M&A, business development, HR, legal, and operations in complex, rapidly-changing environments. Please email som.cdo@yale.edu with any questions We look forward to seeing you! ***** Stu West Biography Stuart West is the Chief Financial Officer at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, the Web's most popular publishing platform. In this role, West is responsible for Automattic's global financial strategy and provides operational and strategic leadership as Automattic continues to expand its product offering and build its global community of publishers and readers. Prior to Automattic, West served as executive in residence at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, where he advised the firm and its portfolio investments. Before that, West was the CFO for Kno, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based company that is creating a dynamic learning platform specifically for students. Prior to joining Kno, West served as Chief Strategy Officer for InfoSpace, Inc. where he was responsible for corporate strategy and M&A activities. Before InfoSpace, West served as a Vice President at Yahoo! Inc. where he drove business operations across product lines including Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo.com. Prior to Yahoo!, West spent 6 years at TiVo Inc. most recently in the Chief Financial Officer role, where he raised more than $250 million in eight financings including public stock and debt offerings during revenue growth from $4 million to $260 million. West also spent seven years in investment banking at J.P. Morgan & Co. West has been a long-term board member and trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit which runs Wikipedia. He has also worked for the U.S. State Department at the United Nations. Stuart has a B.A. from Yale University and lives in the San Francisco bay area.
