We are pleased to announce that Yale School of Management and Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies will host their inaugural DC Salon event, with guest speaker Matt Kotchen. The Salon series provides an intimate setting for alumni to discuss emerging policy and business issues with a leading expert in the field. Matt Kotchen is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy and Environment at the US Department of Treasury. Matt's office develops, coordinates, and executes the Treasury Department's role in all domestic and international environment and energy topics, including energy discussion in the G-20, UN Climate negotiations, and World Bank. The Department also leads efforts to develop efficient and effective environmental and energy policies at the national level. Matt is on service leave from his a joint appointment at Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and Yale School of Management. His work and interests lie at the intersection of environmental and public economics. Over the course of the evening, we will discuss Matt's observations on the opportunities and challenges to concretely advancing a clean energy and environmental agenda through government.
