Lagos Yale Day of Service, Nigeria

Saturday, May 25 2013 at 2:30 - 5:00 pm EDT

Dear Yalies, I am writing to thank everyone for making the day of service a success. We had a total of 14 people, 5 of whom were Yale Alumns. We assisted them with getting a new clothes hanging pole installed, donated food items and offered some advise and words of encouragement. Please feel free to continue to donate items. 1. Food items 2. Boys clothes (Boys are aged 13-17yrs old ) 2. Books (For library) 3. Games (any kind- board games, video games- monopoly, scrabble, cards etc) 4. 30 white plastic chairs They also accept financial donations to support their work. Below is a group picture, 2 of our volunteers left before we took the picture. Special thanks to Yetty, K.C, OK, Mr. Onafowokan for coming out and bringing members of their families. At the end of the day there was a request for more avenues for Alumni to connect. Stay tuned for details on a Happy Hour in Lagos within the next month or 2. Suggestions on day of the week, time and venue will be appreciated. After this event, I believe we can now formally register with Yale Alumni Association and be recognized as a Yale Club in Nigeria, as the major requirement was 2 years of activity. Have a great week! Bosipo
