Over 60 people attended this month's breakfast, about 20 of whom are directly involved with startups, another 20+ who serve legal, banking and venture cap needs, and the rest consulting and next gig seekers. Attendees heard from David Voorhes YC '80, a member of the Boston-based angel investment organization Launchpad Venture Group over a buffet breakfast event, sponsored by the Algonquin Club, YaleBoston and the Boston Yale Entrepreneur's Group. Prior to that, he was VP Sales & Marketing at Lytron, a medium-sized manufacturer of custom-engineered cooling products. David holds engineering degrees from Yale and Caltech. About Angel Investing An angel investor is an individual who makes direct investments of personal funds into a venture, typically early-stage businesses. This is in contrast to venture capitalists who typically raise and invest third party funds. An angel group is a formal or informal assembly of active angel investors who cooperate in some part of the investment process.
