Thursday, Mar 14 2013 at 10:30 pm - Friday, Mar 15 2013 at 12:30 am EDT

Hank Greenberg on "The AIG Story" Thursday, March 14, 6:30 pm The legendary CEO tells the inside story of building the world's largest insurance company, and the dramatic tale of its near-destruction after he left in early 2005, as his successors transformed AIG and drove it to the center of the financial crisis of 2008. In The AIG Story, Hank Greenberg has enlisted George Washington University Professor Lawrence Cunningham to help chronicle the origins of the company and its pioneering spirit, which open markets everywhere in the world. The book provides a unique inside account of AIG by one of the most iconic business leaders of the twentieth century and also offers new critical perspective on battles with N.Y. Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and the 2008 U.S. government seizure of AIG amid the financial crisis. Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld of the Yale School of Management will join Mr. Greenberg for a Q & A. The reception will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the talk and Q & A at 7:00 pm in the Roof Dining Room.
