Hosts Michela English ‘79 and Rob Quartel ‘78 were joined by about 80 people, including members of class of 2012 interns, newly admitted students from the class of 2013 and fellow alumni for an afternoon of good fun and barbecue. A long-standing summer tradition, the picnic as usual was held on the hottest weekend of the year, unusual, however, was the location this year. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar just approved the Congressional Cemetery to be listed on the prestigious Register of National Historic Landmarks, alongside other DC sites such as the White House, Capitol, and the Washington Monument. Docents were present at the event and took tours of alums around this beautiful and fascinating landmark. Check out the pictures, you may know people who where there. Now there's an idea for your next event! http://alumni.som.yale.edu/events/pasteventslist/11-05-16/Summer_Picnic_Washington_DC.aspx Summer Wine Tasting, New Haven, CT The Connecticut chapter hosted a great event in June, celebrating the summer by cracking open a few bottles of fine wine and learning all about them. About 30 people attended the event, and great fun was had by one and all. http://alumni.som.yale.edu/events/pasteventslist/11-04-21/Summer_Wine_Tasting_New_Haven_CT.aspx Community: Have you checked out your new look?
