An Evening Discussion With Professor Rodrigo Canales, Mexico City, Mexico

Tuesday, Mar 15 2011 at 11:30 pm - Wednesday, Mar 16 2011 at 1:30 am EDT

VENUE: Club de Industriales Rodrigo Canales, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior will speak on "The Institutional Dimensions of the War on Drugs". In the past five years, violence related to organized crime in Mexico has spiraled to never before seen rates. As executions, open confrontations, and the culture of violence become increasingly rooted as elements of everyday life, the federal government's strategy has lost public support. Join Professor Canales as he discusses the deeper dimensions of organized crime in Mexico, the current strategy to address it, and their implications for the stability of Mexican institutions. A reception with alumni and Professor Canales will precede and immediately follow the discussion. Reception will include hors d'oeuvres and drinks. We look forward to seeing you!
