Yale Buffalo Hunter's Dinner with Patty Limerick and Chips Barry Sunday, March 28, 5:30pm Come to The Fort Restaurant in Morrison for a culinary treat spiced with the wit and wisdom of two exceptional alumni. Patty Limerick, Yale University, American Studies, '80 PhD, is a professor of History at CU Boulder, chair of the Board of the Center of the American West, and winner of a 1995 MacArthur Fellowship. Chips Barry, Yale College '66, will soon be retiring after 19 years as Manager of Denver Water, where he succeeded in numerous institutional and political innovations while managing a significant portion of the West's most controversial and vital resource. Ms. Limerick will lead us in an exploration of the insights and tales Mr. Barry has collected while wading deep into western water. Following this talk, we will enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by the chefs of The Fort Restaurant. First Course: Fort signature dinner salad; Served with breads and Fort pumpkin muffins. Second Course: Two BBQ Buffalo Ribs Smothered with our Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce; Accompanied by a fresh seasonal vegetable and white cheddar and roasted shallot mashed potatoes. Dessert: The Fort's Chocolate Chili Bourbon Cake –a spicy chocolate cake with a chocolate bourbon drizzle The Fort was created by Sam'l P. Arnold, '47, and his wife Bay. Born of their passion for western history, the restaurant, under the ownership of their daughter, Holly, maintains a strong connection to Yale's Howard R. Lamar Center for the Study of Frontiers and Borders via their own local Tesoro Cultural Center. Holly Arnold Kinney's husband, Jeremy Kinney, class of '68, is the chairman of the Tesoro Cultural Center, which will be hosting the dinner. The cost of the dinner and talk is $36.00. Drinks are not included. We have room for 48 people. Go to the event detail page at cya.org, to reserve and pay. For more information call John Boak, 303-777-6226, johnboak@boakart.com
