Innovations in Private Capital Markets
Professor William Goetzmann is the faculty director of the Yale MBA for Executives Asset Management track and invites guest speakers engaged in the evolving field of asset management to give candid talks to the students. The speakers are chosen to reflect a variety of perspectives, positions, fields of expertise and domains of knowledge. They include asset managers, executives, academic experts and thought leaders with distinctive views about the field and personal experiences within it.
The first speaker in the asset management colloquium series this fall was Holcombe Green '97, Global Head of the Private Capital Advisory business at Lazard and co-chair of the ICF Advisory Board. Professor Goetzmann invited Holcombe to speak to his students about his career path and industry. Holcombe discussed how he became interested in private equity and gave an overview of the industry over the last 20 years. He discussed some of the latest innovations in private capital markets and addressed how his industry is adapting to the Covid-19 market.
Holcombe ended the colloquium by answering several student questions. Students come from a variety of backgrounds and asked several questions to find out more about Holcombe’s views on the private equity industry, private markets, and trends such as impact investing/ESG.
