Prof. Song Ma Wins Award for Research on "Killer Acquisitions"
Congratulations Professor Song Ma and co-authors Florian Ederer (Yale SOM) and Colleen Cunningham (London Business School) for winning the 2020 AdC Competition Policy Award for their leading research on “killer acquisitions.” The award is presented annually by the Portuguese Competition Authority and was created in order to encourage research in competition economics and law.
The winning paper was selected by the award committee because of its “originality and relevance of the implications for the development of competition policy.” The paper also “develops the first empirical analysis on killer acquisitions, i.e. acquisitions of innovative companies, often start-ups, specifically with the purpose of eliminating potential competitors.”
