ICF hosts 2023 Yale Junior Macro-Finance Conference

The Yale School of Management hosted the 3rd iteration of the Yale Junior Macro-Finance Conference on July 8 and 9, 2023.  The conference brought together a group of 10 top junior researchers who study topics at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance to discuss broad issues about the future research agenda in a small, interactive setting.  The conference was hosted by professors Will Diamond (University of Pennsylvania), Gary Gorton (Yale University), Arvind Krishnamurthy (Stanford University), and Yiming Ma (Columbia University).

The conference covered topics such the role of behavioral economics in macroeconomic policy, the empirics of household consumption, corporate investment decisions, the international role of the dollar, new approaches to bond pricing, non-bank financial intermediation, the impact of monetary policy on asset prices, the history of international banking, and connections between macroeconomics and geopolitics.  All discussions were broader than specific individual papers and raised foundational questions about previous work and pointed to promising directions for the future research agenda.
