2019 AQR Insight Award Winner
Congratulations to Professor Kelly Shue for winning the 2019 AQR Insight Award with co-author Richard Townsend (UCSD) for their paper, "Can the Market Multiply and Divide? Non-Proportional Thinking in Financial Markets."
Since 2012, the AQR Insight Award has recognized and rewarded exceptional academic working papers that offer original, intelligent approaches to practical issues in the investment world.
Three of our current finance faculty have also been previous winners or received honorable mentions for the AQR Insight Award in the past:
- 2018 FIRST PRIZE: Professor Stefano Giglio, Yale University, for his paper, “Taming the Factor Zoo,” with co-authors
- 2016 FIRST PRIZE: Kelly Shue, University of Chicago , and co-author Samuel H. Hartzmark, University of Chicago, for their paper, “A Tough Act to Follow: Contract Effects in Financial Markets”
- 2016 Honorable Mention: Professors Stefano Giglio, University of Chicago and Bryan T. Kelly, University of Chicago, for their paper titled, “Excess Volatility: Beyond Discount Rates”
- 2012 FIRST PRIZE: Bryan T. Kelly, University of Chicago and co-author Seth Pruitt, Federal Reserve Board, for their paper on, “Market Expectations in the Cross Section of Present Values”
