SOM-founded company Bite was recently included in Fast Company’s list of The Most Innovative Companies in Restaurants, Dining, and Food Services for 2025. Bite, which was founded by alum Jeff Hong '15 while he was pursuing his MBA at SOM, uses AI technology and self-service kiosks to personalize the digital ordering experience at a number of well-known restaurants. They recently partnered with fast casual restaurant chain Big Chicken to debut their “secret menu” function, shared with patrons through major Big Chicken backer Shaquille O’Neal.
Bite’s inclusion on the 2025 list underscores the company’s commitment to using innovative technology to optimize customer service for dining establishments. As the article states, Bite “[transforms] self-serve ordering from purely transactional to an engaging, branded experience.”
