The China India Insights Program seeks to be the world's leading research-based program delivering insights on business issues relating to China and India and more generally emerging markets. Program initiatives include academic research conducted by faculty fellows, collaborative research with leading corporate and academic partners, a flagship annual conference and a speaker series.

Academic Research

The program facilitates research by Center Fellows on a wide range of topics of relevance to emerging markets through conferences and seminars. It facilitates interactions with relevant business and research organizations within China and India to obtain appropriate data for analysis by faculty fellows.

Case Studies

The program promotes understanding of Chinese and Indian markets by writing and disseminating case studies on these countries to be used in teaching MBA students.

Affiliate Program for Corporations and Foundations

The program also facilitates research projects on ideas and issues originated from Corporate and Foundation affiliates. The program engages with corporate and non-profit affiliates on basic and applied research on emerging markets that are relevant to business issues and questions of interest to the affiliates.


The Annual China India Consumer Insights Conference is the flagship conference dedicated to dissemination of the most current and advanced research and business practices on China and India and more broadly emerging markets. The conference features talks by leading industry practitioners discussing the challenges and opportunities and the current state of the art in terms of business practices and leading academic scholars from around the world. The conference rotates annually among the Yale campus, China, and India.

Speaker Series

The speaker series is designed to create exchange of ideas between leading edge business practitioners and Yale MBA students on topics relevant to marketing and business strategy in emerging markets.
