About the Course

The Impact Practicum is an elective that offers an opportunity for students to receive course credit and faculty oversight for a professional project that they want to pursue during the fall semester. Projects could arise from a number of sources, including: serving on the board of a local nonprofit through the Nonprofit Board Fellows; ongoing work with a local organization through the Social Impact Consulting club or Inclusive Growth Fellowship; a summer internship; or opportunities that surface through other courses or professional affiliations. The goal of the course is to provide a structure, process, and frameworks for students’ consulting projects to ensure that they are carried out in a rigorous manner with clear milestones and deliverables. The course will have one weekly class session and one weekly meeting with a faculty mentor. Enrollment is by application only, which will take place in June-July.
