The Program on Social Enterprise, Innovation, and Impact is delighted to welcome Sooah Rho as our new Associate Director. Sooah brings a wealth of experience in social impact consulting, advocacy, and education that will help advance the Program's ambition to establish a leading platform for social impact insights and innovation at Yale and beyond.

Sooah joins us from Social Finance, where she worked on the impact advisory and investment teams, crafting strategies to drive change in workforce development and education. She has previously built collaborative coalitions among 80+ NYC nonprofits through the Student Success Network, advocated for policies supporting working and middle-class families with CT Voices for Children, and founded the Elevating Youth Voice program to promote community-centered decision-making. Prior to her work on the East Coast, Sooah taught 10th-grade English at Oakland Unity High School and was recognized as Teacher of the Year by the Office of Oakland Charter Schools in 2016.

Sooah holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and earned a Bachelor’s degree from USC’s Annenberg and Cinematic Arts programs, where she collaborated with BBC correspondents to report on North and South Korean relations, with an emphasis on humanitarian aid and social support for North Korean defectors. Her leadership has been further recognized through her appointments to Teach for America’s Alumni Board, Leaders for Educational Equity’s Emerging Policy Leaders, and Princeton’s Emerging Leaders in Nonprofit.
