Yale SOM Student-Led Ventures Win Prizes at Startup Yale 2024

Student-led startups Guideli, WealthMeUp, and Win Number were among the winners of the annual event recognizing entrepreneurship across Yale.

Three ventures founded by Yale SOM students were among the winners at the university’s biggest entrepreneurship competition, Startup Yale 2024.

This year, the annual event included two days of venture pitches, celebrations, and interactive speaker panels that convened Yale innovators, community leaders, investors, and practitioners across a spectrum of industries.

Finalist teams in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors pitched their ventures to panels of experts, academics, entrepreneurs, and investors. More than $160,000 in cash prizes were awarded.

These are the winning Yale SOM student teams:

  • Guideli provides an AI-powered solution to streamline immigrant visa applications, making the process of relocation simpler, more accessible, and more efficient. The venture won the Manolo Sanchez Prize, which awards $25,000 to a student-led startup with the potential to improve the financial health of underserved communities.
  • Focusing on young female professionals from 25-35 years old, WealthMeUp has a mission of making financial knowledge fun and accessible for all. As the Audience Choice Award winner for the Manolo Sanchez Prize, this venture received $2,000.
  • Win Number combines advanced analytics, AI, and persuasion science to help progressive campaigns run more efficient and effective voter contact programs. As the Audience Choice Award Winner of the Yale Innovators Prize, which recognizes the startup with the greatest potential for real-world impact, Win Number received $2,000.
