Wit Wattananimitgul ’26 Reflects on Generational Connection

One student’s Yale SOM journey highlights how scholarship support can open doors.

Receiving the Lise Pfeiffer Chapman ’81 MBA Scholarship, which is designated for first-generation college students, allowed Wit Wattananimitgul ’26 to make the most of her Yale SOM experience.

To receive this scholarship means that I’m able to really focus on my education and being very present in my community with my classmates.

Wattananimitgul was thrilled to meet Chapman at a campaign event for scholarship supporters.

“We sat next to each other and spent the morning talking,” she remembers. Then the breakfast ended, the room emptied…and they kept talking. “One thing that really stood out to me was the passion that Lise has about making higher education more accessible to first-generation and low-income students. She really does speak with her actions.”
