Volunteer Spotlight: Diana Toma ’20

Meet Diana Toma ’20, Seattle Chapter Leader. As part of our Volunteer Appreciation Week Spotlight series, Toma shares inspiration for becoming an alumni volunteer and advice for alumni considering how to get involved.

What inspired you to become a SOM alumni volunteer?

I wanted to give back and engage with my local community after having focused on delivering for customers worldwide at Amazon.

What has been your favorite moment as a SOM volunteer?

Working with community members to create lasting memories and meaningful connections through our events, whether it's driving attendance to the IvyPlus gala or gathering for a Yale SOM summer hike.

What advice would you give to alumni who are thinking about getting involved?

A little can go a long way. When you bring your authentic self, share your interests, and contribute your expertise in the chapter community, you will be surprised at the support you will receive and the impact you can achieve.

In times of uncertainty and change, I encourage everyone to stay connected to their Yale community, curious about understanding different perspectives, and committed to having an impact on state & society.
