Prof. Song Ma Named Young Global Leader by World Economic Forum
Ma was selected from thousands of nominees to join Young Global Leaders, one of the most competitive leadership communities.
Song Ma, professor of finance and entrepreneurship, has been selected for the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders (YGL) Class of 2026, joining a distinguished cohort of approximately 100 leaders from around the world.
Founded in 2004 by the international organization known for its annual summit in Davos, the YGL program convenes exceptional individuals under the age of 40 who are shaping the future across regions and sectors.
As a YGL, Ma will take part in a three-year leadership program focused on collaboration with peers and contributions to the forum’s initiatives. This will include work with three forum centers whose missions align with Ma’s research: the Centre for AI Excellence, the Centre for Frontier Technologies and Innovation, and the Center for Financial and Monetary Systems.
“The Young Global Leaders community has a remarkable track record of convening individuals who combine deep expertise with a commitment to public impact,” said Ma. “I look forward to working alongside members of the community from every sector and region to advance responsible approaches to AI, innovation policy, and the future of finance.”
Ma joined SOM faculty in 2016. He is also a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and an affiliated faculty member at Yale Law School Center for the Study of Corporate Law and SOM’s Program on Entrepreneurship.
Ma’s research interests span innovation economics, entrepreneurship, financial economics, AI, and big data. His work has been cited by policymakers around the world, including at the Federal Trade Commission and European Union Competition Commission.
