The Broad Center Announces 2026-27 Cohort of the Fellowship for Public Education Leadership
The Broad Center at Yale School of Management welcomes its largest Fellowship cohort to date, bringing together 26 senior public education leaders from across the country.
The Fellowship for Public Education Leadership is an executive leadership program run by The Broad Center at Yale SOM for senior-level public education leaders from across the country who are dedicated to strengthening public school systems and the communities they serve.
Starting this fall, the 26 Fellows selected for the 2026–27 cohort will convene in New Haven for immersive, weeklong modules at Yale SOM designed to strengthen their leadership capacity and equip them with insights from management research that can be applied to the complex challenges facing public education. The Fellowship emphasizes peer learning and collaboration, creating opportunities for Fellows to learn alongside one another and engage with leading practitioners and faculty. Participants bring these experiences back to their organizations as they lead transformative efforts across urban school districts, charter networks, and state education agencies in pursuit of more equitable and excellent outcomes for all students.

Adriana Abich
Chief Executive Officer, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy
Adriana Abich is CEO of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy and a nationally recognized education leader with 27 years of experience advancing excellence and equity in public education. She has led transformative improvements in student outcomes, founded the Avance Teacher Residency, and is known for developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and driving systemic change. Guided by a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives, Adriana is committed to ensuring every student has access to a joyful, rigorous, and opportunity-rich education.
Kyle Bruich
Assistant Superintendent, Glendale Unified School District
Kyle Bruich is the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at the Glendale Unified School District in Glendale, California. In this role, he oversees personnel operations, strategic staffing, and leadership development across the district's schools. Kyle is deeply committed to fostering equitable educational environments, supporting educator excellence, and driving strong outcomes for all students.
Michel Cazary
Area B Superintendent, San Diego Unified School District
Dr. Michel Cazary serves as an Area Superintendent in the San Diego Unified School District, providing strategic leadership and oversight for 34 elementary, middle, and high schools. She is committed to fostering personal and leadership development by helping educators understand how fear influences individual behaviors and decision-making. Through this lens, she empowers leaders to cultivate self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and become agents of change for the young scholars and communities they serve.
Tolga Hayali
Superintendent, Science Academy of New York Charter schools
Tolga Hayali is the Superintendent of the Science Academies of New York (SANY) Charter Schools, a high-performing public charter school network in Upstate New York. As Superintendent, he oversees the network’s eight campuses, leading its academic, operational, and strategic efforts across Syracuse, Utica, and Rochester. Guided by his belief that every child deserves access to an excellent education and a strong sense of belonging, Tolga is committed to expanding educational opportunity, embracing multiculturalism, advancing STEM education, and preparing students for college, careers, and lives of leadership and community contribution.
Crystal Lane
Chief Education Officer, DREAM Charter School
Crystal Lane is the Chief Education Officer at DREAM Charter Schools, where she oversees the educational experience for more than 3,000 children and young people from birth through 12th grade, spanning early childhood, K-12 education, afterschool, and summer programming. She believes every Black and Brown child deserves the opportunity to achieve economic mobility, transform the trajectory of future generations, and create a life defined by purpose, possibility, and their own dreams.
Jane Martinez Dowling
Chief, Office of Student Pathways, New York City Public Schools
Jane Martinez Dowling is the Chief of the Office of Student Pathways at New York City Public Schools. As Chief of OSP, Jane leads the district's efforts to transform educational experiences through career-connected learning, early college opportunities, apprenticeships, and innovative models that reimagine work-based learning for students.
Kelly J. Rivers
Deputy Superintendent of Academics, Richland School District One
Kelly J. Rivers is an accomplished education leader with over 25 years of experience across K–12 curriculum and instruction, leadership development, human resources, and student support services. As Deputy Superintendent of Richland One, she drives equity, supports instructional leaders, and advances student achievement through innovative, sustainable systems.
Kevin Stockdale
Chief Financial Officer, Cleveland Metropolitan School District
Kevin is the CFO of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District in Ohio, serving over 30,000 students. As CFO, Kevin is focused on allocating resources to effectively and equitably improve the academic opportunities and outcomes of students in a financially sustainable manner. He previously worked in Ohio state government, including service as the CFO of two state agencies, with extensive experience in legislative policy, operations, and information technology.
Stacy Tosé
Chief of Schools, Baltimore City Public School District
Dr. Stacy Tosé is the Chief of Schools for Baltimore City Public Schools, where she oversees instructional leadership, student support services, school operations, school police, athletics, and whole child initiatives serving more than 75,000 students. She is committed to strengthening school leadership, improving student outcomes, and ensuring every student has access to high-quality educational opportunities regardless of circumstance.
Carol D. Birks
Superintendent/Chief Executive Officer, Allentown School District
Dr. Carol D. Birks is the Superintendent /Chief Executive Officer for the Allentown School District, one of Pennsylvania’s largest educational systems. With over three decades of serving as an educational scholar, executive coach, and educational leader, she focuses on improving instruction and strengthening organizational infrastructure. Through data-informed decision-making, collaborative governance, and strategic coherence, Dr. Birks is committed to accelerating academic outcomes for all students. A prominent voice in education, she co-authored The STEM Century (AASA edition) and contributes to the AASA Schools of Thought Blog Series, sharing research-based insights on leadership practices and systemic transformation.
Bobby Canosa-Carr
Chief Schools Officer, Equitas Academy Charter Schools
Bobby Canosa-Carr is the Chief Schools Officer at Equitas Academy, a network of charter schools in Los Angeles. He oversees instruction, leadership, and school culture across grades TK through 12. Bobby is a published author and an ICF-certified leadership coach, who is passionate about redesigning schools to nurture student well-being and empowerment.
Tamra Stephanie Collins
Community Superintendent, New York City Public Schools
Dr. Tamra S. Collins is the Community Superintendent of District 19 in New York City Public Schools, where she leads 36 schools serving approximately 12,000 students. She is a transformational leader committed to developing leaders, strengthening instruction, and building equitable systems where every child has access to high-quality learning experiences and the opportunity to thrive.
Megan Hougard
Chief of College and Career Success, Chicago Public Schools
Megan Hougard is the chief of college and career success for the fourth largest public school district, Chicago Public Schools. As the chief of college and career success, Megan leads the districtwide strategies for postsecondary success and connectedness & wellbeing. By focusing on investments in multiple postsecondary pathways and intentional student supports, she envisions students from every neighborhood in Chicago being able to pursue fulfilling, family-sustaining careers that reflect their passions.
Sonia R. Llamas
Superintendent, Riverside Unified School District
Dr. Sonia R. Llamas is Superintendent of Riverside Unified School District, one of California’s largest and most diverse public school systems, serving more than 38,000 students across 51 schools. A first-generation college graduate, bilingual leader, and LCSW, she brings over 30 years of experience at the intersection of education, social work, and systems change. Dr. Llamas is deeply committed to creating the conditions for children to thrive and believes schools, in partnership with community, must serve as ecosystems of opportunity where every student is seen, supported, and empowered to realize their fullest potential.
William Murphy
Chief Operations Officer, Indianapolis Public Schools
William Murphy is the Chief Operations Officer of Indianapolis Public Schools, where he oversees facilities, transportation, capital investment, safety, athletics, food services, and other district operations. A longtime education leader, he has worked across traditional public schools, charter schools, and nonprofit organizations to strengthen organizations and expand opportunities for students. A forever New Orleanian at heart, Bill lives in Indianapolis with his wife and three sons.

Tim Stowe
Superintendent, Torrance Unified School District
Tim Stowe serves as the Superintendent of Schools for the Torrance Unified School District, a high-performing public school district serving roughly 22,000 TK-12 students in Torrance, California. As Superintendent, he oversees the district’s 34 schools and works with the Board of Education, staff, families, and community partners to strengthen teaching, learning, and organizational effectiveness. He is committed to developing a school system that supports all students, staff, and families and prepares students for success in school, career, and civic life.
Duke Bradley, III
Superintendent, Newton County Schools
Duke Bradley, III is the Superintendent of Newton County Schools in Georgia, a traditional public Pre-K–12 school district serving 24 schools and approximately 19,000 students. Duke has been an executive administrative leader across multiple sectors, including public school systems and independently run charter schools. As a leader, Duke is committed to advancing the collective interests of communities through strong academic outcomes and expanding opportunity for all students. He works to ensure schools are high-performing, equitable, and aligned to the long-term success of the students and families they serve.
Emin Cavusoglu
Deputy Superintendent, Harmony Public Schools
Emin Cavusoglu serves as Deputy Superintendent at Harmony Public Schools, a Texas charter school system serving 75 schools and more than 48,000 students. With over 20 years of K–12 leadership experience, he has served as CEO, superintendent, deputy superintendent, principal, and teacher. His work centers on improving academic growth, building teacher and administrator capacity, strengthening compliance systems, and expanding college-and-career readiness. He led Harmony’s “CTE for ALL” initiative, expanding equitable access to career pathways and industry-based certifications. He is committed to building high-performing systems that prepare every student for long-term success.
TyAnthony Davis
Chief Executive Officer, ICEF Public Schools
TyAnthony Davis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ICEF Public Schools, a TK–12 public charter school network serving students and families across Los Angeles and Inglewood. A former teacher, attorney, and school founder, TyAnthony now leads ICEF’s strategy, school performance, governance, organizational systems, and long-term sustainability. He is deeply committed to building excellent public schools that honor students’ identities, expand opportunity, and prepare young people from historically underserved communities for college, career, and life.

Roberto Lozano
Chief of Educational Equity and Support Programs, Las Cruces Public Schools
Dr. Roberto Lozano serves as Chief of Educational Equity and Support Programs for Las Cruces Public Schools in New Mexico, where he leads district-wide work in federal programs, early childhood, behavioral health and academic counseling, language access and other strategic initiatives. A first-generation immigrant and longtime public educator, he is committed to advancing systems that expand opportunity, strengthen supports, and improve outcomes for historically underserved students and families.
Ashley E. Reyher
Associate Superintendent for Special Education & Early Intervention, Prince William County Public Schools
Ashley Reyher is the Associate Superintendent for Special Education and Early Intervention for Prince William County Public Schools, the second largest school division in Virginia which serves approximately 90,000 students. Dr. Reyher oversees the leadership of special education, multi-tiered systems of support, and comprehensive preschool programming, to include a current expansion effort to provide universal access to all four-year-olds by 2030. Dr. Reyher is a passionate leader who leads with the value of high-quality learning experiences for each and every student and is a champion for public education and educational equity.

Superintendent, Perry Township Schools
Dr. Patrick Spray is the Superintendent for Perry Township Schools serving more than 16,000 students in Indianapolis, IN. With more than 18 years of superintendent experience he specializes in driving academic achievement, maximizing organizational efficiencies, and creating collaborative infrastructures that empower educators and students.
Matt Taylor
Executive Director/Superintendent, California Montessori Project
Matt Taylor is the Executive Director of the California Montessori Project (CMP), a network of six tuition-free public Montessori charter schools serving students across the Sacramento, California region. A longtime leader in California charter schools, Matt is a champion of CMP's mission of expanding access to high-quality, equity-centered Montessori education.
Judith Johnson White
Chief Academic Officer, Prince George's County Public Schools
Judith White is the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of Prince George's County Public Schools, one of the largest urban school districts in the United States. As CAO, she oversees all academic programming for Early Learning, Curriculum and Instruction, Career and Technical Education, Specialty Programs, The Arts, and Special Education.
