The Yale School of Management’s social impact community filled Snyder Forum at Evans Hall for the inaugural joint kickoff of four major on-campus organizations: Net Impact, Nonprofit Board Fellows, Social Impact Consulting Club, and Social Impact Lab. In past years, each club hosted its own launch. This year, leaders came together to highlight the breadth of opportunities available and their shared commitment to the mission of business and society.
“This past spring, second-year leaders from across the impact clubs came together to think about how we could better support the incoming class,” said Rebekah Wellons (MBA’26), a student leader of the Net Impact program. "We hoped that bringing everyone together would help students see the full scale of impact opportunities at SOM and realize how much support they have."
In addition to the four co-sponsoring clubs, the event included introductions from other impact-related initiatives, including the Yale Philanthropy Conference. Following the formal program, students enjoyed an informal mix-and-mingle in the Evans Hall atrium. At the mix-and-mingle, club leaders and other students connected and discussed their shared passion for creating change.
Students left the event energized about the range of ways to get involved. Leslie Nut-Komlah (MBA’27) remarked, “It’s really easy to get caught up in classes or recruiting, but this event reminded me that creating impact and building community are just as important, and those are the memories that will stick 20 years from now.”
