Yale SOM Names Anita Sharif-Hyder as Dean of Students
A longtime Yale administrator, Sharif-Hyder is currently the senior associate director of the University-Wide Committee on Sexual Misconduct.

Anita Sharif-Hyder has been appointed as Yale SOM’s dean of students and assistant dean of academic affairs and student life, Dean Kerwin K. Charles and Deputy Dean Anjani Jain announced in an email to the community today.
Sharif-Hyder is currently the senior associate director of the University-Wide Committee on Sexual Misconduct in the Office of the Provost. Before joining the Office of the Provost, she was assistant director of the Yale World Fellows program. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology and is a certified restorative justice facilitator and mediator. An active member of the New Haven community, she serves on the board of the Long Wharf Theatre and is a fellow of the Community Leadership Program.
Sharif-Hyder will continue to serve as associate head of Trumbull College, one of Yale’s 14 undergraduate residential colleges.
She will begin her new role in January 2025, succeeding Sherilyn Scully, who stepped down in September after more than 15 years.
