Inaugural Ogilvie Colloquium Set for November 30
The inaugural Donald Ogilvie ’78 Colloquium on November 30, sponsored by the Council on Anti-Racism and Equity (CARE), will bring together a panel of three alumni—Lofton Holder ’90, Judith Scimone ’00, and Fred Terrell ’82—in conversation with Jamila Abston ’17 and Mae-Lynn Wong ’23.
The inaugural Donald H. Ogilvie ’78 Colloquium, sponsored by the Council on Anti-Racism and Equity (CARE), is set for Tuesday, November 30 at 5 p.m. The event, a product of Yale SOM Dean Kerwin K. Charles’s 2020 call to develop and advance community-wide anti-racist initiatives, will feature three alumni leaders of color—Lofton Holder ’90, Judith Scimone ’00, and Fred Terrell ’82—in a conversation moderated by Jamila Abston ’17. Current MBA student Mea-Lynn Wong ’23 will also participate.
The ongoing colloquium is designed to highlight stories not always told in business, bring a diversity of perspectives to the school, and foster representation both in and out of the classroom. The speaker series is named for Donald Ogilvie ’78, a graduate of Yale SOM’s first class, who called on Yale to lead on issues of race and equity by “furthering world-class exchanges of ideas and ideals.”
The Ogilvie Colloquium was conceived of and developed by the inaugural Council on Anti-Racism and Equity, including representatives from the school’s faculty, students, alumni, and staff. It advises the dean and provides a mechanism for communication of needs and issues to the school’s senior leadership.

Speaker Biographies
Lofton Holder ’90
Holder has more than 30 years of Wall Street experience including roles as a managing director at JP Morgan Asset Management and Investcorp. He co-founded Pine Street Alternative Asset Management in 2011, a data-driven asset management firm that identifies women and minority hedge fund portfolio managers who are undercapitalized but nonetheless outperform. He has worked as a board member for the EGF Accelerator | New Ideas for Educational Equity, Maimonides Medical Center, and Pace University. He also advises a startup called Landed.
Judith Scimone ’00
Judith Scimone leads human resources for MetLife’s U.S. business and global functions. She joined MetLife in 2020 as chief talent officer.
A seasoned human resources executive, Scimone’s experience spans multiple industries, geographies, and functional areas. She has held HR leadership roles in leading financial services, technology, and healthcare organizations, including JPMorgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, and Google. She brings deep expertise in HR business partnering; talent management; organization development; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Scimone began her career as an engineer at General Electric. A native New Yorker, she has also lived in Latin America and Asia Pacific. She holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
Fred Terrell ’82
FredTerrell is the retired executive vice chairman of investment banking and capital markets at Credit Suisse, the global investment bank, and later served as senior advisor from January 2018 to November 2018.
