Celebrating Veterans Day at Yale SOM
How Yale and SOM are marking the occasion.

Today Yale observes Veterans Day by honoring Yale staff, faculty, student, and alumni veterans and paying tribute to all who have served our country.
Our annual Yale Veterans Day ceremony will be held in Hewitt University Triangle, featuring speakers including President Salovey, Secretary and Vice President for Student Life Kimberly Goff-Crews, and Yale Law School student and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Michael Sullivan. Yale College Assistant Dean Risa Sodi will receive the “Veterans Day Tribute” in recognition of her support for Yale veterans, and a brass quartet will perform echoing taps, the national anthem, and service songs.
At Yale SOM, our Veterans Club hosted events throughout the week to celebrate veterans and active duty service members, including an opportunity for veterans to candidly share their experiences and stories during Voices, a morning PT workout, an Ask Me Anything session, and a Closing Bell, a weekly gathering that marks the end of classes.
Yale University has a strong commitment to welcoming and supporting individuals who have served, a commitment closely tied to Yale SOM’s mission to educate leaders for business and society. Join us today for a moment of remembrance as we honor those who have served and those who have fallen for our country.
