From the Assistant Dean for Admissions: Visiting Campus

Now that students are back on campus and classes are in full swing, we in the Admissions Office are putting the finishing touches on our 2015-16 campus visit program. The program will begin on Monday, September 21, and will include the opportunity to sit in on a class, have lunch with students, tour Yale SOM and Yale University, and attend a Q & A session with an admissions officer. Visiting campus is an ideal way to get a sense of the Yale SOM culture and community, as well as to experience our beautiful new home, Edward P. Evans Hall.

Schedule your visit on the Yale SOM website.

There is just under a week until our Round 1 application deadline. I am often asked when the best time is to visit campus, and especially whether there is any advantage to doing so before submitting your application. My advice is invariably that you should visit us when it best fits into your schedule. While visiting before you apply will provide you with more insight into our program and community, it will not increase your chances of being admitted. Visiting campus is not something we look at in evaluating applications—and there are many people who are admitted without first visiting campus. You should be guided by when you are best able to make it to campus.

We wish you all the best during the application process and hope to see you on campus soon!
