The Emerging Leaders Seminar: Global Organizations and Management is designed to foster the careers of promising professionals of color by providing an understanding of the increasingly global challenges faced by organizations in a variety of sectors.

As a participant in the Emerging Leaders Seminar, you will learn from top Yale SOM faculty, getting an understanding of management tools and how they can help address challenges in any sector. You will also interact with current students and alumni and learn about the value of management education and the diversity of career options possible with a graduate management degree. The program also provides participants with professional development coaching and opportunities to engage with other high-potential professionals of color.

You will leave the program with connections to a larger professional network, new ways of thinking about global management challenges, and business skills and insights that you can immediately apply within your organization and towards your career.

This program is designed for early career professionals (zero to two years of experience) from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds who currently work or plan to work for a global organization and are considering attending graduate school in the future.

Competitive applicants will have at least six months of continuous full-time work experience and a GPA above 3.0 on a four-point scale.

We encourage applications from professionals who identify as: Black, Hispanic American/Latinx, Native American, Southeast Asian American, African, Latin American, or Pacific Islander.

  • Tuition, cost of lodging (in a double occupancy room), and meals during the program are covered by the Yale School of Management.
  • Participants will receive up to $500 reimbursement toward transportation costs to and from Yale’s campus in New Haven, Connecticut.

Who Should Attend?

    • Are you looking to accelerate your career progress within a global company? Do you have plans to impact organizations outside of the United States? Are you looking to learn more about how organizations around the world work?
    • This immersion program is created for early career professionals (two years or less of full-time work experience) interested in senior management careers in global businesses, governments, and nonprofits. We are looking for talented professionals who come from backgrounds underrepresented in management (including, but not limited to, Black, Latinx/Hispanic American, Native American, Native Hawaiian, African, Central/South American and Southeast Asian ethnicities) and have not yet pursued graduate education.

    • Professional nomination: to be completed by a management-level member of current organization, detailing applicant’s contributions to the organization and leadership potential (approximately 300 words).
