GMAT, GRE or Executive assessment(EA)
Applicants to the Yale School of Management MBA for Executives program are required to submit scores from one of three standardized tests: GMAT, GRE or the Executive Assessment (EA). There is no minimum score to apply. Have your official score report(s) sent directly to the Yale School of Management. You can request GMAT score reports through www.mba.com (use code 3TJ-BX-75). You can request GRE score reports from www.ets.org/gre (use code 5624). You can request EA score reports from www.gmac.com/ea (select Yale School of Management).
Exam preparation is often the most time-consuming part of the application process. We strongly recommend taking the exam early, after taking a formal exam preparation course, and/or taking the practice exams online.
You are required to list two (2) individuals who will provide professional recommendations for you. Ideally, at least one of the recommenders should be in a position to assess your performance at your most recent job. Recommendation forms can be emailed directly to recommenders from the online application.
Designed for working professionals, the Yale MBA for Executives program aims to accelerate careers, where students can apply learning and grow personally and professionally as they progress through the program. A rich, discussion-based learning environment draws upon the real-time experience of classmates. The program therefore requires that students be employed or similarly professionally engaged for the entire duration of the program. Applicants are required to receive approval for time out of the office from a supervisor or HR representative prior to the admissions interview.
We recommend submitting a current resume that is only 1 to 2 pages in length. Please note that you must have a minimum of five years of post-undergraduate professional experience as we seek to build a diverse class with deep industry knowledge.
Essays & Area of Focus
We require two essays (500 words each), each with a prompt that will maximize your opportunity to share more about your life, professional and personal goals, and your alignment with your chosen focus area.
The application fee is $225 and can be paid online by credit card. You will be prompted to pay the fee after submitting your complete application.

Your application will be considered complete and ready for review once we have received your application, payment, and all supplemental materials. You can check the status of your application at any time on your status page.

Principles on Holistic Admission and Spring 2020 Grades
Recognizing the challenges to teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provost and Deans of Yale University adopted the following principle:
Yale’s admissions offices for graduate and professional schools evaluate applicants holistically and will take the significant disruptions of COVID-19 into account when reviewing students’ transcripts and other admissions materials relating to Spring 2020. In particular, we will respect decisions regarding the adoption of Credit/Fail and other grading options during this unprecedented period, whether they are made by institutions or by individual students.
Yale is proud of its strong commitment to equal opportunity and accessibility to all candidates from any part of the world who show great academic and personal promise. We extend our holistic application review to all students without regard to citizenship or immigration status.
