Why did you choose to attend Yale SOM?
I chose to pursue business school to support my long-term career prospects. As a first-generation college student, it was important to me that whatever degree I pursued would be worth the investment of time, money and effort that I'd be making. I found that an MBA would provide me with the skills and network to pivot into management consulting and venture capital, but would still allow me to maintain a focus on social impact in my work and personal commitments. I was nervous about pursuing an MBA without having a quantitative or private sector background in my previous work experience, but have found myself well-supported academically and professionally, and have seen that my peers value the different perspectives I bring from my public sector / social impact background.
