What is your favorite class at Yale SOM?
I have enjoyed a wide array of the classes I have taken at SOM but my favorite so far is "Modeling Managerial Decisions"(MGT 405). This class, which is an MBA core class, gave me a different and unique perspective into allocation of resources and decision-making that leaders are tasked with at various levels in organizations. I am a very quantitative person so I enjoyed the numerical elements of the class. However, the best thing about it was that each class offered me the opportunity to distill complex and often competing objectives to simple, logical and systematic decision-making rubric that can be optimized with simple tools. The exceptional facilitation of my Professor, Anjani Jain, prompted my classmates and I to probe assumptions and challenge constraints in order to tease out the logic and reasoning behind them. These and more are the reason I consider this class my favorite and I look forward to applying my learnings as my career unfolds.
