Joint-Degree Students Share Internship Takeaways

Summer internships give MBA students opportunities to try out new roles, new organizations, even new sectors. For some students, these opportunities are doubled. Students pursuing joint degrees at Yale SOM and the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies are at Yale for three years—so they have two summers to intern. Joint Degrees: Summer Edition 2014

This year has been just as rich as my first first – my classes have been challenging, I’ve gone to incredible talks, and my classmates have pushed me to think in new and different ways. Summer provides unique opportunities to take our new skills and apply them in real world settings. Prospective students often overlook the role that summer can play in designing your own curriculum and the great way it can be used to leverage an opportunity in a field that you are interested in. A Merging of Worlds: Yale SOM and the Cabaret

One of the most special aspects of Yale SOM that drew me to the school was its natural merging of worlds.  With 12% of its student body being joint degree candidates and a large general population of individuals from non-traditional backgrounds (think economic development, fund/endowment management, theater administration, etc.), Yale SOM is a melting pot whose talented student body is united by a sense of purpose stemming from underlying passions.   Continue reading “A Merging of Worlds: Yale SOM and the Cabaret”
