Argentina’s Path to Debt Relief from Private Creditors

On August 4, after a default, months of tense negotiations, and multiple deadline extensions, offers and counteroffers, Argentina and its private creditors reached an agreement to restructure $65 billion of dollar-denominated sovereign debt.
