It is a hot time for recruiting this summer, and the Yale School of Management Career Development Office is here to help. Whether you are promoting current needs or planning for student engagements in fall, the Employer Partnership Team is poised to advise on how best to connect with interested students. Below are some details about upcoming key dates and events as well as news about incoming students, including the new Master’s Degree in Asset Management. Commencement Caps Toss Commencement was a celebration!

On May 24, Yale School of Management held an in-person commencement to much pomp, circumstance, and celebration. It certainly was a graduation like no other! 

What’s Happening 

The new Master’s Degree in Asset Management launches this fall

Join us Noon-1pm ET on July 20 to learn more from Faculty Director Tobias J. Moskowitz and the Yale SOM CDO about Yale SOM’s new Master’s Degree in Asset Management and associated recruiting opportunities. The one-year program is designed for recent university graduates and early career students looking to launch careers in the asset management. Students in this program will be recruiting for internships during the program to fulfill a practical experience requirement as well as for post-graduation roles starting May 2022.

Summer 2021 recruiting for immediate hire, school-year internships and for summer 2022

If you have current recruiting needs, please reach out to your Employer Partnership Manager or post roles directly in 12Twenty, our career management system. While we are happy to promote to all audiences, particularly receptive students include:

  1. Class of 2021 EMBA, MBA, MAM and GBS graduates
  2. Incoming Master’s Degree in Asset Management Class of 2022 recruiting for both school-term internships and full-time roles starting summer 2022
  3. Winter 2022 graduates from the MBA, MAM and GBS degrees

Plans for school-year recruiting engagements are falling into place

The fall recruiting calendar is filling in with various employer engagements. If you have plans that have not yet been confirmed by the Yale SOM CDO, please submit them directly into 12Twenty for our review and approval. If you are still assessing recruiting plans, or have yet to start, we are happy to strategize and build an effective recruiting approach together. Register today for upcoming Yale SOM CDO hosted recruiting events

The Yale SOM CDO already has scheduled nearly twenty multi-employer virtual recruiting engagements for the next year. All are visible in 12Twenty and open for free registration. These events range from small group to large scale, from industry-themed to open to all, and even from including Yale SOM students only to including a broader graduate school audience. Regardless of your organization’s location, size, age or recruiting needs, we encourage you to build these events into your recruiting strategy. What’s Next 

Opportunities to train students recruiting for full-time roles

As Orientation closes in late August and classes start by September 1, many students will be interested in jump-starting their full-time recruiting efforts with interview training in early September. We are happy to coordinate interview prep training, which is a great way to engage with students and help them shine throughout your recruiting process. If interested, please reach out directly to your Employer Partnership Manager who can help facilitate efforts.

Meet Tobias J. Moskowitz 

The Master’s Degree in Asset Management Faculty Director and the Dean Takahashi ’80 B.A., ’83 M.P.P.M. Professor of Finance at the Yale School of Management

Tobias MoskowitzProfessor Moskowitz was previously the Fama family Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he had taught since 1998. He was recognized by the American Finance Association with its 2007 Fischer Black Prize, which is awarded biennially to the top finance scholar in the world under the age of 40 in years when one is deemed deserving. The award cited his “ingenious and careful use of newly available data to address fundamental questions in finance.” His work has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, U.S. News & World Report, Money magazine, and a 2005 speech by former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan. He has also appeared on CNBC’s Closing Bell and Squawk Box, CNN, FOX, and Bloomberg.
