Student Experience

Mission-oriented in everything, with a little fun added in

Your two years as a Yale MBA student will be an intense experience—one that will shape the rest of your life.

Starting with your first moments on campus, you'll get to know classmates who were bankers, entrepreneurs, teachers, consultants, and relief workers, and who have lived and worked in countries across the globe. These people will become friends and colleagues, enriching your two years at Yale and forming a lifelong personal and professional network.

The coming together of this community supports all our other efforts. We welcome people with a strong sense of values who aspire to make a difference in the world. Our community respects each other's values and seeks to help each member achieve their goals.

I’ve particularly found the ability to safely share my perspectives and experiences, both in and outside of class, a remarkably positive aspect of this community.

Clubs host conferences and bring speakers to campus, keeping you informed about the latest developments in your industry. They'll help you prepare for the recruiting process with boot camps and mock interviews. And they'll provide leadership opportunities, allowing you to put into practice what you learn in class.

Throughout the year, you will have opportunities to both broaden and deepen your pool of knowledge. Hear from top decision makers from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors who regularly visit campus. Learn how to appreciate a new sport. Team up with fellow students to plan a major conference.

Alumni and friends of Yale SOM enrich our students’ learning experience in many ways—including by supporting experiential opportunities in the U.S. and globally. These donor-funded awards enable students to directly apply classroom lessons to complex on-the-ground challenges. Awards support student work projects and entrepreneurial endeavors that promote inclusive economic well-being, environmental and social impact, as well as cross-cultural respect and cooperation.
