Impact of COVID-19 Outbreak on Yale SOM Programs

Yale School of Management is monitoring the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus and related travel restrictions and adjusting plans for programs as events warrant. Yale remains open but all classes will be online.

Yale Commencement 2020 Postponed

Commencement and associated activities will not take place as planned from May 16 to May 18, 2020. Yale is currently working on alternative ways to celebrate commencement.

All SOM Classes Move Online

Through the end of the spring semester, all Yale SOM classes will be taught online. 

In addition, all in-person summer programs at Yale are canceled through June 27, 2020.

Remote Work

Through April 30, only staff whose work is deemed critical to current operations will be expected to report to work on campus. 

Visiting SOM

Visits to Edward P. Evans Hall are suspended until further notice. 

Yale SOM Reunion Weekend

Yale SOM Reunion Weekend 2020, originally scheduled to take place on May 1–3, has been postponed. Visit alumni.som.yale.edu for more information. 

Admissions

Full-time MBA program
Yale SOM Admissions has added an additional “Round 3 Extended” deadline of May 27, for those candidates who are unable to submit a complete application by the Round 3 deadline of April 14 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, Round 3 candidates have an additional 10 days to submit a GMAT or GRE test score (until April 24). 

Master of Advanced Management program
The Round 3 deadline of April 14 is unchanged; however, candidates who are unable to submit a complete application by the Round 3 deadline because of the COVID-19 pandemic should reach out to Admissions.

Master’s in Global Business and Society program
The Round 3 deadline of April 14 is unchanged; however, candidates who are unable to submit a complete application by the Round 3 deadline because of the COVID-19 pandemic should reach out to Admissions. 

MBA for Executives program
The Round 3 deadline of March 30 is unchanged. However, the EMBA admissions team will work with individuals who are unable to meet that deadline to complete the process, and will continue to accept and evaluate applications for the next several weeks. 

Yale Public Events Policy

All scheduled events inside of Evans Hall through the end of the exam period have been cancelled or have migrated to an online format. If you have plans to attend a Yale SOM event within that time period, please check with the event organizers about their current plans.

School-Sponsored Travel Postponed

The Yale School of Management has canceled all outbound school-sponsored travel during the school’s spring break in March. Among the programs affected by this decision are faculty-led International Experience courses, student consulting engagements that are part of the Global Social Entrepreneurship course, and Global Network Week, a series of modules on the campuses of schools in the Global Network for Advanced Management.
