Yale SOM Welcomes New Faculty Members for 2019-20

Five new faculty members in economics, operations management, and accounting will join Yale SOM on July 1.

Katja Seim, professor of economics, was most recently an associate professor of business economics and public policy at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Her research interests include how firms make market entry decisions and price discrimination and nonlinear pricing in the communications and information industries.

Tauhid Zaman, associate professor of operations management, served as the KDD Career Development Professor in Communications and Technology (associate professor) at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Additional new faculty include:

• Raphael Duguay, assistant professor of accounting (PhD at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business) 
• Lesley Meng, assistant professor of operations management (PhD at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business)
• Anya Nakhmurina, assistant professor of accounting (PhD at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business)

Also, Dr. Howard Forman (of the Yale School of Medicine), director of the healthcare curriculum in the MBA for Executives program and director of the MD-MBA joint degree program, has been appointed as a professor in the practice of management.

In addition to the new hires, Yale SOM has promoted the following faculty members:

• Kate Cooney has been promoted to senior lecturer in social enterprise and management.
• Jason Dana has been promoted to associate professor of management and marketing.
• Joyee Deb has been promoted to associate professor of economics.
• Florian Ederer has been promoted to associate professor of economics.
• Vahideh Manshadi has been promoted to associate professor of operations.
• Amandine Ody-Brasier has been promoted to associate professor of organizational behavior.
• Taly Reich has been promoted to associate professor of marketing.
• Kevin Williams has been promoted to associate professor of economics.
