This Week's Student Club Speakers: Finance for Good, the Future of Transportation, Forecasting Energy Markets

Every week, accomplished alumni and other leaders visit Edward P. Evans Hall at the invitation of student clubs, sharing career advice and insights into their industries. Here are a few of the speakers who visited the school during the week of November 28.

Monday, November 28

The Energy Club hosted “The Future of Transportation – Electric Vehicles,” a talk by Scott Fisher, director of market development at of EVgo. EVgo is the country’s largest electric vehicle charging network. Fisher focuses on building financing partnerships with governments, utilities, and automakers to expand EVgo’s charging station footprint across the U.S. 

Tuesday, November 29

Jeremy Balkin, author of  Investing with Impact: Why Finance is a Force for Good, spoke about his book to the Adam Smith Society and the Investment Management Club.

Wednesday, November 30

Kate Hardin ’96 returned to Yale SOM as a guest of the Energy Club. She presented a talk called “Forecasting Energy Market Trends in the Context of Climate Change.” Hardin is senior director at IHS Energy.

Oscar Benjamin MBA/MEM ’17 presented “Pitfalls on an Aspiring Corporate Environmentalist,” a talk in which he outlined his seven-year attempt to become a corporate environmentalist. Benjamin spoke to the Social Impact Lab
