Every week, accomplished alumni and other leaders visit Edward P. Evans Hall at the invitation of student clubs, sharing career advice and insights into their industries. Here are a few of the speakers who visited the school during the week of November 7.
Monday, November 7
The Marketing Club was joined via telephone by Yujie Wang from Janssen, the pharmaceutical arm of Johnson & Johnson, for a conversation about her role as a marketing leader in the pharmaceutical industry. The event was part of the club’s Day in the Life series on marketing career paths.
Second-year students shared their experiences as summer interns with Bain & Company during a Consulting Club event.
Wednesday, November 9
Second-years Felipe Furiati, Nitesh Kumar, Katy Mixter, Laura Pinkham, and Gabriela Rivas spoke to the Consulting Club about their experiences recruiting for consulting jobs in international offices.
The Social Impact Lab hosted Stephen Kump ’17 for a conversation titled “The Next Generation of Political Giving: 50 Trillion Dollars That Will Change the World.” Kump is the cofounder and CEO of Charityvest, a nonprofit tech venture that aims to make charitable giving smarter.
The Women in Management Club hosted a Communicating with Confidence workshop for first-year students led by Melanie Harris, principal in the New York office of Bain & Company.
Thursday, November 10
A panel of second-year students spoke to the Consulting Club about the recruting and internship process with boutique firms AT Kearney, Analysis Group, and Simon-Kucher.
Current Yale SOM students who have served in several branches of the military—including Samantha Degnan ’18, Andrew Long ’17, Robert McFadden YC ’10, SOM ’17, Christopher Ross ’17, Matthew Scher ’17, Nicole Thompson ’18, and Adam Vance ’17—shared their experiences and answered questions during a Student Veterans Panel hosted by the Veterans Club.
Net Impact hosted a roundtable discussion with Bhawani Singh Shekhawat, CEO of Akshaya Patra.
