Cansu Arslan"Sense of community" isn’t just a phrase here at Yale SOM; trust and commitment are inherent in Yale SOM’s DNA. For me, the Class Gift is a way of paying it forward for the next generation of Yalies who get to experience the inclusive, diverse, and impressive community at SOM.

Cliff SakutawaAs the curtain comes down on what has been an amazing MBA journey for me here at Yale SOM, I can’t help but feel eternally grateful to have been part of this community! Everyone here embraces and exemplifies Ubuntu – passionate about their community, kind to self and others, curious, humble and know very well that there is something bigger than us as individuals. The Class Gift for me is my small way to say Maita basa, Thank you! – to give to the society that has given me so much, and to open doors for others who are going to come after me. Also, the ability to team up with my classmates during the class gift campaign is a very welcome plus!

Paraj TyleAs my time at Yale SOM comes to an end, I look back at the numerous invaluable experiences and memories that I will cherish forever. Class gift is a small way for me to say thank you to the community here, for this transformational journey. It is a great opportunity for me to ensure the same for those to come.

Ariana YuenAs an aspiring entrepreneur, coming back to school for an MBA wasn’t an easy decision and going to the right school was non-negotiable. I chose to return to school, specifically to SOM, based on the deep belief that being here would somehow enrich my life, and I was satisfied thinking that the value of my SOM MBA would be realized more in the long-term vs during school or even immediately post-graduation. Soon after I was on-campus, however, I was so pleasantly surprised to realize my expectations were being exceeded. Since joining this community, I have been invaluably inspired by and given tremendous personal and professional support by the SOM, Yale, and greater New Haven community in ways I could not foresee. I’m serving as a co-chair for the Class of 2019 Gift not only to pay it forward to similarly exceptional class cohorts to come, but to celebrate the past, present, and future mark SOM will continue to have in this world.
