A good day + the SOM Talent Show

April 15, 2007

I'm Ezzard Batiste; I am a member of SOM Class of 2008. My background is in computer science. These days I'm looking to do something finance-oriented. For more information about me, please check out my bio. Yesterday I participated in a mentoring event for some black high school students in New Haven. We discussed some basic financial and investing principles. I was there along with several students from other graduate programs here at Yale, as well as a few undergrads. The high schoolers seemed pretty engaged, which made it a rewarding experience. Last night I went to the SOM talent show. The participants gave great performances; it was nice to see this other side of my classmates. There were many different kinds of acts, ranging from singing to belly dancing. Knowing the kind of discipline that it takes to hone musical and performance abilities, I have even more of an appreciation for the students around me.
