Longy returns to Regattabar with an evening of playful musical experiments, ear-bending sound worlds, and short trivia rounds designed to keep you thinking, laughing, and shouting out answers you didn’t know you knew, woven throughout the program. Bring your quick thinking, useless facts, and people you like laughing with — this is not a sit-quietly concert, it’s a fun-in-the-room concert.

What you'll hear: In this joyful mashup of music and imagination, we start with a young John Cage turning everyday objects into infectious rhythms in Living Room Music, jump to Longy student Jordan Hadrill channeling 17th- and 18th-century musical persuasion with one mission, make you feel joy, then head to the vivid energy of São Paulo as composer Alexandre Lunsqui builds sound like a brilliantly designed toy before Longy faculty Andy Kozar and Corrine Byrne spin a spark from “Here Comes the Sun” into something bright and buoyant, and finally we close with Sarah Whitney looping her violin into a one-woman orchestra that feels expansive, electric, and impossible not to smile at. 

 Please note this event will take place at the Regattabar at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett St, Cambridge, MA 02138). The hotel is easily accessible via the MBTA Red Line and local bus routes. Parking is available at The Charles Hotel.
