The speed at which ideas and innovations develop and spread within organizations is profoundly affected by social networks. However, most organizations are not designed to encourage continual innovation. The organizational structures that are most effective for operational excellence are, in many ways, directly contradictory to the structures that are most effective for innovation. We will explore the value of creating project networks to resolve these tensions and create learning organizations.
