Concurrent Sessions 2: Executive Voice and Presence

Friday, May 5 2017 at 2:45 - 3:45 pm EDT

Beinecke Terrace Room
165 Whitney Avenue
New Haven, CT 06511
United States

In this workshop participants will develop executive presence through awareness and experiential understanding of the voice, breath, and body. Strong communicators are completely present and fully embody their thoughts. We will explore the art of listening, breath as a grounding technique, voice cultivation, vocal variety as it applies to engaging the listener, and ways of developing a more dynamic physical and vocal presence. These skills can be applied to a wide variety of business situations from the conference room to presentations before a large audience. The goal is to engage the creative power that comes from being fully present and prepared physically, vocally, and imaginatively. Many of the exercises are derived from actors’ tools on approaching a role and engaging an audience.
