Yale School of Management students launched a new initiative, SOM Serves, which it plans to make an annual tradition, from April 24 to 28. More than 600 Yale SOM students, faculty, and staff dedicated their time and talents to various local nonprofit organizations during the week. Acts of service included creating and delivering more than 200 books and literacy kits with personal notes to New Haven pre-school students to encourage a lifelong love of reading; and donating and delivering more than 2,000 pounds of clothing, goods, and food to four local shelters that serve a combined 5,000 people in the greater New Haven community. SOM Serves is student-led, sponsored by Student Government, Net Impact, Social Impact Consulting, and Nonprofit Board Fellows.
