Time and Date: Saturday, October 1, 2016. 1:15pm-2:30pm Venue: HKUST Business School Lee Shau Kee Business Building Language: English Cost: Free. Registration is required.
Outline of the Talk
Peter Thiel, the founder of Founders Fund, PayPal and Palantir Technologies, shows us how to build a great business from scratch in his best-selling book "Zero to One". However, for those with a good amount of corporate work experience, moving to the world of entrepreneurship is not as simple as starting from ground zero. They face a tough decision to let go of the past and embrace the unknown. One needs to start at "One to Zero" before reaching "Zero to One".
We are honoured to have invited a finance veteran turned entrepreneur, Vince Chan (SOM '02), to share with us about her successes and her setbacks along the transformative path. With all the blessings and burden carried forward from the glamorous corporate world, how and why did she give up on everything she once enjoyed and start all over again? Come join us at lunch on Oct 1. Food for thought - good food and good companion always go hand in hand!
