On March 19th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, you are invited to join the first gathering of Yale SOM and School of Public Health Alumni for a frank discussion of important issues facing healthcare leaders. Watch a recording here: http://som.yale.edu/yale-som-alumni-panel-contemporary-healthcare-issues Our first panel will focus on the challenges and benefits of physician-hospital system alignment. In a recent survey of hospital executives, physician-hospital system alignment was rated as one of the most important and most difficult challenges facing the industry. Leading the panel will be Bruce Cummings, CEO of L&M Hospital in New London, CT (and a graduate of Yale's School of Public Health). As CEO of L&M since 2005, and a leader of hospitals in New York and Maine prior to L&M, Bruce brings deep experience and insights to the issues facing hospital systems, including that of physician-hospital system alignment. Other members of the panel include: --Yale Professor Howie Forman, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Economics, and Public Health, Director of the MD/MBA Program, Director of the MBA for Executives: Leadership in Healthcare Program & Lecturer in Ethics, Politics, and Economics --Mary Ann Etiebet MD and SOM 2003, Director, Ambulatory Care Strategies, Office of Healthcare Improvement, Division of Medical and Professional Affairs, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. --G.
