"Back-to-School Night" with Dean Sharon Oster and Professor Andrew Metrick, New York, NY
Thursday, Dec 2 2010 at 11:30 pm - Friday, Dec 3 2010 at 1:30 am EST
Join Sharon Oster, Dean and Frederic D. Wolfe Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship and Andrew Metrick, Deputy Dean for Faculty Development, Theodore Nierenberg Professor of Corporate Governance, Professor of Finance, & Faculty Director of the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and fellow alumni for a stress-free evening of learning. Professor Metrick will speak on "Financial Regulation and the Future of the Financial Sector". 2010 has already been a watershed year for financial regulation, with the Dodd-Frank Act in the United States and agreement in principle for major international reforms under the "Basel III" regime. Join Professor Metrick as he discusses these changes and their impact on the structure of the financial sector going forward (including a few "gotchas" that may still be to come and need to be watched!). He will also discuss the research program right now at Yale SOM to better understand and improve the management and regulation of "systemic risk". A reception with Dean Oster, Professor Metrick, and fellow alumni will precede and immediately follow the discussion. We look forward to seeing you! COST: $30.00 includes drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
